Duan Menglan introduced the development of cooperation between CUPB and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as the key work currently carried out. Lu Baoping, president of SINOPEC Petroleum Engineering Research Institute, welcomed Duan Menglan and Segen's visit. He said that this meeting could promote and strengthen mutual understanding, which was of great significance. He agreed with Professor Segen's idea of cooperation. The three sides also exchanged views on how to carry out technical cooperation, personnel training, international exchanges and market development on the platform of China-Brazil Joint Research Institute of Deepwater Technology, and discussed the feasibility of establishing joint research institutes around key technical fields such as deepwater development and downhole tool development.
