On June 24, 2019, the opening ceremony for WEUN 2019 Summer International Geology Field School was held by the department of Geology, Faculty of Petroleum in China University of Petroleum-Beijing at Karamay. Prof. Xie Qingbin, dean of the Faculty, Prof. Yin Wen, head of the Department, and instructors for geology fieldwork attended the ceremony and expressed warm welcome to the attendants, students from UniLaSalle (France), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (Malaysia), and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (Vietnam). 对照阅读
At the Ceremony, Prof. Xie, representing Karamay Campus, extended good wishes to the attendants. Drawing on the advanced facilities and natural geological landforms for practical training, as well as the interaction with CUPB teachers and students, the attendants are highly expected to enhance their professional skills and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. Neng Yuan, one of the instructors, introduced detailed schedule and the dos and don’ts for the field school. The attendants made self-introductions about their education background and expressed their gratitude to the organizers and excitement about the upcoming field school. This Summer International Geology Field School, from June 25 to July 6, is one of the series of activities held by CUPB under the framework of WEUN. During the 12-day field school, the attendants will follow the instructors to explore typical geological phenomena and visit several local petroleum and petrochemical industries so as that they can apply the theories learned in classroom, know well about the frontier development in industries and lay a solid foundation for their profession. 继续了解
