Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for Petroleum Engineering (China University of Petroleum)
Mission and Ambition
Being the core business of oil and gas exploration and development, petroleum and natural gas engineering is a knowledge, technology and capital intensive project centering on petroleum and natural gas exploitation and transportation. Based on the national key discipline of petroleum and natural gas engineering, MOE Key Laboratory of Petroleum Engineering set up 5 main research directions, which are oil and gas drilling and exploration mechanics and control engineering, wellbore multiphase flow theory and technology, oil and gas reservoir porous flow theory and development engineering, oil field chemistry and enhanced oil recovery technology and oil and gas pipage and storage technology.
With a long history of combining production, study and research, this lab has accomplished considerable technology development and promotion, training and conculting in projects of western oil and gas exploration and development, offshore well drilling and completion, oil recovery enhancement, hyposmosis oil reservoir high-efficient development and oil and gas pipage. More than fifty percent research outcomes could be transferred into practical productive forces, which contribute to the innovative development and industrialization of petroleum and natural gas engineering.
